This Saturday, I was sorting out articles on hydraulic cartridge valves in my study. Suddenly, a loud and clear sound came from the living room. Upon running out, my favorite celadon vase fell to the ground, with fragments scattered all over the ground. My 6-year-old son stood in the living room, staring at me, bewildered.
Looking at the debris all over the ground, my blood surged up and I shouted at my son. The first time my son saw me get so angry, he was scared and desperately tried to find a reason to explain why the vase fell to the ground, but also to shirk his responsibility. Looking at the tears on his face, I suddenly remembered the instinct of human nature: "When people are afraid, the subconscious action is to avoid, find reasons, and shirk responsibility." I also realized that it was wrong for me to get angry.
Returning to my study, I blamed myself for not holding back my anger. Next time I encounter something similar, I must hold back. During my reflection, I summarized the 3 steps.
The first step is to take it easy. I should first see if my son is injured.
If he gets hurt, go to see a doctor. If there is no injury, clean the debris on the site to avoid secondary injury.
The second step is to control emotions and analyze the reasons.
Ask my son, why did the vase fall to the ground? If I am gentle, and child is also gentle. He may tell me, "I'm sorry, I just threw the toy around and accidentally broke the vase.".
The third step is to eliminate root causes.
The celadon vase has broken, and if I don't give up, what else can I do? I can talk to my son like this: Steven, this vase is worth more than 10,000 yuan, and it's also Dad’s favorite vase. Now, it's broken. What do you think to do? He may say, 'I'll give you all my lucky money and buy another one.'.
How can we avoid this happening again in the future? He might say, "I won't throw things around anymore.".
What if I throw it around again? You can punish me.
Son, the important thing is not punishment. Violence cannot solve the problem. Instead, think about what this event has taught you, or what risks it may bring to you, and how we can avoid them in the future. If a celadon vase hit on your head, it will bleed and hurt, which is something Dad doesn't want to see. You can think about what behaviors may bring risks to you and what items at home may harm you. Let's change our behavior together, okay?
Seeing and recognizing children, helping them provide feedback, and constantly correcting their behavior. It is like a seed, constantly giving sunshine, rain, and dew, and patiently fertilizing. Until one day, the seeds broke through the soil and grew into towering trees. This is my reflection and summary of the 3 step method.
This morning, I opened my mailbox and checked my customer's email. I saw Tim's complaint. AAK sent him samples of a hydraulic cartridge valve test order, which was not the model he wanted. I immediately wondered if another customer's hydraulic cartridge valve sample was sent to Tim by mistake. In the past, I would immediately call my colleagues and hurl insults at them. But yesterday's experience of scolding my son told me that the more I scold my subordinates, the less guilty they will feel.
I used the 3 step method to do this way:
The first step is to deal with the problem. I apologized to Tim first, and within a week, I will send him the test order samples of his customized hydraulic cartridge valve. I also asked him to return the wrong hydraulic cartridge valve samples, and I will bear all the costs. At the same time, I also emailed to the other customer and told him that the wrong test order samples for the hydraulic cartridge valve were sent to him, and asked him to return the samples. I will bear all costs.
Step 2: Analyze the cause. For example, two different hydraulic cartridge valve test order samples may be delivered at the same time. The express package is identical. FedEx may take the wrong sample when it comes to pick up the goods. Find ways to completely eliminate problems and ensure that such problems do not occur again. Have colleagues discuss the new SOP for sending samples of hydraulic cartridge valves.
Step 3: Determine the sample sending plan for the hydraulic cartridge valve test order. After discussion, implement the plan. Further consider what hidden dangers remain in the work and how to eliminate them.
I think that's the benefit of a 3 step process. Not only did it solve the problem, but it also educated subordinates and allowed them to grow. To achieve the goal, the work must be implemented in place, and the specific tasks should be recorded in the task list, specifying the responsible person, completion criteria, and deadline. After that, continuous tracking will be conducted to ensure implementation and that problems and hidden dangers can be resolved.
AAK hydraulic cartridge valve, targeting, tracking the process, and obtaining results. Many times, it is important not only to focus on "What to do", but also to focus on "How to do" and "Who to do".
